If you feel that your joints need a really thorough warm-up then it's time to try paraffin. What is it really about? A special wax is obtained during the distillation of petroleum. It is known for its ability to retain heat and transfer it in the skin where needed. Solid paraffin is heated in a bath poured onto a sheet, allowed to cool to a temperature of 40-42°C. It is applied to a specific part of the body most often to the back in the form of a cake. The result is a general warming up, blood circulation in tissues and, relief from the pain of the musculoskeletal system.
Paraffin pack is suitable:
- For the treatment of chronic degenerative disorders of the spine and joints.
- To reduce muscle tension and general relaxation.
This treatment is not suitable for acutely and seriously ill persons and pregnant women.
How the paraffin pack works
After being brought into the room, you undress as needed - depending on where the wrap is applied (e.g. back or limbs). You lie down on a lounger and the spa worker applies a paraffin wrap covered with foil to your body. Then they wrap you in a blanket. After 20 minutes, the compress will be removed from your body again and the paraffin residues will be removed from the skin.
Duration of the treatment: 20 minutes.
Paraffin wrap is a medical treatment sold with informed consent.
