Elisabeth Spa will replace all windows. For the reconstruction, the city spa received a subsidy that will cover part of the costs. When planning the replacement, the spa had to meet the conditions of preservationists, said the chairman of the board of Elisabeth Spa - Václav Benedikt (ANO). According to him, the project includes the replacement of 403 windows on the facade and 102 on the roof.
"We asked for support within the fifth energy saving call of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for a project with a total cost of 24 million crowns. But there is a high level of co-financing," said Václav Benedikt. The subsidy will cover about 30 percent of the total costs, which means that Alžbětina lázně will receive about eight million crowns, the rest will be supplied by the city of Karlovy Vary as the sole shareholder. According to the project, the work should last until 2023.
During the selection process, the spa received a single offer for the replacement of windows. The complexity of the order is that about seven percent of the windows are to be refurbished and the rest will be replicas. At the same time, as Benedikt said, the original windows were made by hand and practically no two windows in the listed building are the same. The replacement of the windows is the first major investment that Alžbětina's spa will start with the overall reconstruction.
For example, the reconstruction of the roof and trusses should follow, the elevator has already been overhauled, and the entrance and entrance area of the large building will also be repaired.
